Frequently Asked Questions – Donations

 

Question: What kinds of toys are accepted?
Answer: Share-A-Gift accepts new and gently used toys, books, bikes, games, puzzles, and stuffed animals for ages from infants through age 14.

Question: Is there a required minimum or maximum value?
Answer: No – but toys must be clean and useable.
Dolls are sometimes cleaned and dressed for distribution the next year.

Question: Do you accept bikes that need repair?
Answer: Yes – we can do minor repairs only and if they are received in time before the distribution.

Question: Where and when can I drop off donations?
Answer: Please see this list of PUBLIC locations that accept toys.
Many other businesses, churches and organizations also accept toys, but these PUBLIC locations particularly welcome your donations.

Question: Do you accept toy guns?
Answer: No – it is our tradition to not distribute toy guns.

Question: Do you accept computers?
Answer: No – because we are not able to certify the acceptability of the software or other contents.

Question: Do you pick up donations?
Answer: While this is not guaranteed, we can try to pick up donations. Contact info@ShareAGift.org.

Question: May I donate money?
Answer: Yes – donated funds are tax-deductible and are used for operational costs of running the Toy Shop and to purchase new toys as needed for distribution.

Question: Where can I send my tax-deductible check?
Answer: Mail checks made out to
